AWARD works for the welfare and development of poor in India with particular emphasis on youth children and women. It supports people who are in need of food, education, health care, shelter and clothing, emotional and moral support. Our program supports over 4,000 children, 6,000 women, 3500 Youth and covers in area of rural/urban AWARD Trust covers seven major areas of assistance: health, sanitation, nutrition, early childhood programs, women and children, vocational trainings and poverty alleviation. Animal welfare programs Creating self-sufficiency for youth from 16-35 years of age is referred to us by the local social welfare agencies. In Kammapuram Block of Cuddalore district of Tamilnadu we selected 10 villages conducted Workshop on Compulsory free Education Act-1999 as per our project proposal, Nearly 30 stack holders participated like parents, Teachers, Local body members, for this work shop
The workshop addressed and emerged the participants to utilize the ‘’Right to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE- Act 1999)’’ encourage the participants to give special attention to disabled persons to attain qualitative education

To support and promote the education of poor children especially from women headed family, destitute, uncared children of schedule cast, most backward families. Nearly 22 children was selected to provide educational tuition fees, The tuition fees paid to needy children by OTF –Canada’s support will be very useful their study well without school dropouts.

As per project proposal we started and running special Couching centre in above said 10 villages, Total 10 centers running in evening time from 4.30. PM to 6.00 PM. AWARD TRUST’’s Educational Volunteers handle the class. In each centers 13 to 20 children are studying .The local body members and retired teachers are giving full support and guidance for these centers.
Distribution of school uniforms, writing and reading materials.
From this project we provided school uniforms and writing materials to very needy and poor children, Especially children with disability and destitute children.Totaly 26 children in 10 villages were benefited

  • 76 poor children got support for their good studies through the workshop and special coaching centers.
  • Difficult in hard subjects are clarifying in special couching centers.
  • The parents of target children being satisfied that their children regularly followed the educational system.
  • Parents, members of the local bodies, are realized the important of the “Free and Compulsory Education Act-1999”.
  • School drop out ratio significantly reduced.
  • Distribution of school uniform, writing and reading materials in free of cost encouraged the poor families to send children to school regularly without absents.

The Project Implementation Unit (PIU), is proposed to monitor the OTF International Assistance Committee‘s sponsored Project with our regular field staff and volunteers periodically, we added project indicators and sustainability trend in our regular Monitoring and Evaluation formats. Coordinator (M&E) is doing these tasks. We really gain new experiences with these interventions. We had given much importance in selection of beneficiary to implement this program.
