Action for Welfare and Awakening in Rural Development” (AWARD) is a Registered under public charitable Trust in the year 2000 and approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Government of India based Non Governmental voluntary Non-profit social service organization working towards the development and upliftment of down trodden and marginalized people based on twin aims of “Welfare and Awakening” with the vision of “Sustainable Health and Wealth for All”.

It has been working for the empowerment of women, Youth and children among the most marginalized of the marginalized communities in four blocks of Cuddalore District, Tamilnadu, India.

AWARD works for the welfare and development of poor in India with particular emphasis on youth children and women. It supports people who are in need of food, education, health care, shelter and clothing, emotional and moral support. Our program supports over 4,000 children, 6,000 women, 3500 Youth and covers in area of rural/urban AWARD Trust covers seven major areas of assistance: health, sanitation, nutrition, early childhood programs, women and children, vocational trainings and poverty alleviation. Animal welfare programs Creating self-sufficiency for youth from 16-35 years of age is referred to us by the local social welfare agencies.

In the past years AWARD mobilized nearly Rs. 67 Lacks and implemented 17 development projects with support of Government/NGOs.Like Rajiv Gandhi National drinking Water Mission (RGNDWM) with community participation, Empowerment of women, youth with state government social welfare board, Alternative and Innovative Education (AIE) for children & Youth ,Residential schools for orphans, youths, migrates ,child labors, etc by Sarva Shiksha Abiyan (SSA) Govt. of India Project About 6702 families and 3310 beneficiary being benefited with AWARD projects AWARD activities mostly based on people’s involvement, Participation, and demand driven approaches etc.
